Date on Radio 22/1/2018 — Written by Angie Olivo
Thank you Stephen for speaking up about those struggling with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease today, on CBC radio.
I really wanted to tell you that my mother admired you for your courage and thank you for letting her know, that is okay to be this new person and embrace herself. And to not let herself get down because of this disease. That’s why I called. However, I got so nervous and my mom was so giggling next to me. Anyways, Stephen if you get to read this, my mother and I appreciated your courage today.
( Dear reader,
Thank you for being one of my first readers here on Medium. I publish this article today here, however it was from a year ago from my company website WritersYep. Today my mother is in her last stages of dementia and Alzheimer, with a higher tolerance to medications, anxiety and depression pills. The medication to reduce these diseases no longer works and we are still waiting to get assistance from Canada Health or Quebec care system; to help us find a place or home care assistance that cares for younger Early onset Alzheimer's and dementia conditions. However, no facility (private) or institutions wants to take care of a person so young with this disease due to liability.
